School Complex Buch IV, Berlin

Client: Pankow District of Berlin - Immobilienservice Hochbau

Urban design and planning of a school complex adjecent to six and eleven story high prefabricted apartmentblocks from the socialist aera.

The projcet called for 1) the renovation of two existing highschool buildings that were constructed of prefabricated elements  (Typ POS 81), 2) a connecting building was designed for a new aula, mensa, library, 3) a double sportshall and 4) a primary school with integrated sportshall and a roofgarden as schoolyard. The roofgarden also  servs as "fifth facade" for the buildings that look upon it.
